Submissions for the 2019 “Marines in Art” Art Contest are now being accepted at the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum.
The purpose of the Art Contest is to give students a platform to express their artistic and creative skills as they learn about U.S. and aviation history and the contributions, courage and sacrifices of the men and women who designed, built, flew and maintained these iconic aircraft. The contest is open to all 6th-12th grades students residing in San Diego County plus all 6th-12th grade military dependents in the Southwest District.
The subject of all artwork should be U.S. Marine aircraft currently in use or historical USMC aircraft from 1913 to the present. Aircraft should be shown “in flight”.
