The USS Midway Museum has opened its most engaging and complex exhibits in the museum’s history. Known as the “Midway’s Engineers: Service, Sacrifice and Everyday Life,” the new exhibits are focused on the aircraft carrier’s engineering department. They not only tell the stories of the ship’s hardworking engineers, but how steam powered virtually every element of the ship, as well as how fire is a sailor’s worst nightmare.

The launch of these major new exhibits, the first since 2015, is one of the highlights of Midway’s 20th anniversary. The exhibits, which are a tribute to the carrier’s unsung heroes, use state-of-the-art technology to create truly interactive experiences.
